Our Morgan Horses

The Allimax Farm Ideal Morgan:  We raise big, strong, tough, gentle Morgan Horses, that are ready to work. When we say big, our goal is 16 hands, with strong bone, and well-muscled. They must have good feet and sound in all conformation aspects. One of our mares is over 16.2h. Almost every Morgan we have is 15.2h or better.

When we say ready to work, they should be easily able to travel 30 miles in a carriage, at a quick trot. We train them for the road trot, so they learn to extend their stride and cover the miles.

Our riding horses often spend six hours a day under saddle. When they come home, we want to see them relaxed and eager for more. Our horses are bred for energy. If you want to go, they will be ready to go. They must be a pleasure to work around in the barn.

Current Morgan Mares

Windstar Spice

Windstar Spice is a double grand-daughter of Van Lu Starbuck, the 1984 World Champion Morgan Stallion. She has been a prolific broodmare, with two of her sons, Dakota and Tarragon, in service. Her current foal, a filly named Allimax Allspice Honey, was born Thanksgiving Day, 2010. She is the most correct filly I have ever seen, and is the most willing. At one week, she was lifting every leg on command, and allowing us to hold it without fretting.

These pictures of Honey are when she was one day old.

Ross Valley Ruby

.....Ross Valley Ruby, 16.2, has had one foal, Allimax Jewel, who is 15.3 at four years old.

Ruby is currently in foal to Allimax Tarragon, for the summer of 2011.

.....She has outstanding bone strength, foot size and quality. She is uniquely gaited, with an animated parade walk,

and also does a rack on command. At a long trot, she can be comfortably ridden without posting.

Her gallop is as easy as a rocking chair.

.....She is the toughest, fastest horse I have ever ridden. On a recent trail ride of 12 miles,

she trotted or cantered for 8 miles, and wanted more.

 Allimax Jewel

....Jewel is a big, strong, loving and sensible mare. At four she is 15.3, and is currently in foal to Allimax Tarragon.
